This morning I listened to episode 83 of All Games Considered, and found discussion of Toon, and a big interview with the creator of Nightlife, It Came From The Late Late Late Show, and Haiiii-Ya?. This is interesting stuff, especially the big interview, so go there and check it out.

Great news

We have "Swag" from Steve Jackson Games! They sent us a great package of stuff to support our convention, and we would like to thank them very much.
Here is a list of the great stuff that they sent us, some of it will be given out as prize support at appropriate games and some of it will be part of our fund-raising raffle.

Small bag of Munchkin cards (12) I believe that these are cards that cannot be bought anywhere, and are only given out at conventions, things like "Evil Steve Changes the Rules" and "John Kovalic draws a monster."
Star Munchkin cards, I believe that these two packs of cards, together, are the complete game, sans the box and instruction sheet. I will print out both pages of the instructions for inclusion with these cards.
Set of Munchkin Bites (vampire parody) cards.
Set of Munchkin "Blender" treasure cards (these both appear to be packs of around 60 cards).
Bag with five coins labeled "one silver piece," and a giant D10 I believe that this is a munchkin counter accessory.
Full box set of "Munchkin Cthulhu" game.
Full box set of "Strange Synergy" another of their card games, featuring card art by Phil, and possibly Kaja Foglio.
Stack of newsletters and promotional materials.
Ten commercially printed examples of "GURPS Lite," the fourth edition starter rules.
Hard cover copy of new GURPS Fantasy fourth edition.
Two copies of GURPS Egypt by our special guest Thomas M. Kane.

I am further sweetening the "pot" by adding a copy of the new, fourth edition, GURPS Basic Set, Campaigns hardcover book.

There are some folks out there who deserve our thanks for their help in making this convention happen, and making an exciting event with many possibilities and happenings.

Tom Callahan, who has provided us with a variety of help and support, especially the services of the forums at The Jackpoint, where this entire enterprise got its start.

Heidi Fowler, who is responsible for the presence of our visiting author, Valerie Griswold-Ford.

Thomas M. Kane who is crossing the Atlantic to join us. He has a number of game writing credits as well as his more current work in political science.

I also need to thank two individuals who brought to my attention a couple of significant omissions from the front page of our site. P Rheinlander, who pointed out our lack of location information, now fixed, with a Google Map, as well, and Wes at Witz End Comics, Collectibles and Games, who pointed out the need for our pre-registration and registration prices to be easy to find on the front page as well.

We also thank our many other friends for making this all possible!
